  • There are safe countries and high-risk countries
  • You don’t need to worry about language
  • Try to get an Amsterdam City Card
  • Book before going
  • Investigate a little about their customs

There are safe countries and high-risk countries

If you are traveling to the Netherlands nowadays, you must check if your country is considered a high-risk or safe one. Suppose you’re traveling from a very high-risk country. In that case, you need to provide proof of vaccination or recovery from COVID and a negative PCR test result. Before you provide this information, you won’t be able to travel to the Netherlands. Also, unvaccinated travelers are banned from entering the Netherlands.

You don’t need to worry about language

English is almost a second language in this country if you didn’t know, so you won’t have trouble getting around with the language. We recommend that you always try to learn some of the local languages, but you don’t have to learn it before going. Amsterdam is the place where most people talk in English, so you should go there first if you are still learning the local language.

Try to get an Amsterdam City Card

Many cultural sights, museums, and more places aren’t free; however, you could save a lot with this card. With one card, you can enter for free to some of the best museums and art galleries. In addition, you can travel for free within the city limits using public transport and get a discount on food and canal cruises. If you can’t get this card, there are many beautiful national parks you can explore.

Book before going

Booking in advance it’s a general tip, and you can save a lot of money by doing this. If you are planning to visit Amsterdam, you should book ahead of time museums, hotels and all the places you can. We recommend you do this, especially if you are going between June and August. This way you can save money and time, avoiding long queues.

Investigate a little about their customs

This is really important because, for example, you should tip if you go to a restaurant. Many countries include the tips in the bill; however, if you had a good service, you should tip 5 to 10 percent. Also, Dutch people it’s quite formal; you should keep this in mind.
