Nicki Maher is a 43-year-old woman from Somerset, Massachusetts, who secretly recorded her singing nanny, Delaney Wilson, as she performed an iconic song from the Disney movie ‘The Little Mermaid’. The most striking thing about the release is Delaney’s impressive voice, which resonates melodiously and seemingly effortlessly.
As some would say metaphorically, Delaney sings “like a nightingale”. The video clip, which was shared a few days ago, quickly trended, reaching over 11.8 million views and over 2.6 million ‘likes’ on TikTok.
In the video, Nicki can be seen softly pronouncing “this is our babysitter”, then focuses on Delaney singing ‘Part of Your World’ while playing dolls with her young daughter.
“I’m trying to encourage her to express her voice more. But she gets discouraged by the way she looks in her videos. And all I see is beauty. So are my kids. Let’s show her some love so she can make her sing more for us,” she said.
