Last week, the irretrievably broken marriage of Melinda and Bill Gates was announced, but the real reason was never explained. Last weekend Melinda French Gates, who recently introduced her maiden name French into her social media profiles, expressed her concerns about her husband’s dealings with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Melinda started consulting with several high profile law firms almost two years ago to see what divorcing options she had and the motives behind starting to see the light.
Gates has done his best to minimize his contact with Epstein, although they met in 2011, several years after Epstein was accused of soliciting prostitution from underage girls. Epstein was found dead in a New York jail, he was deemed to have killed himself. Gates said: “Every meeting where I was with him were meetings with men. I was never at any parties or anything like that. He never donated any money to anything that I know about.” Until now he denies having any business relationship or friendship with Jeffrey. But the fact that Gates started a relationship after Epstein was convicted of sex crimes raises many questions
Even though Melinda mentioned her uneasiness because of Bill’s relationship with Jeffrey in 2013, Bill stayed overnight at Epstein’s New York mansion at some point. Melinda was furious with Bill for meeting him from the beginning and this act turned out to be a turning point for the Gates’ relationship.
