A few weeks after the filmed wrapped, Caitriona Balfe announces that she has given birth to a baby boy. This is a great piece of news from Outlander’s star, and as her fans, we are happy for her. This explains her absences from social networks and all the secrecy around what she was doing.
Catriona, better known for her role as Claire Fraser in the show Outlander, surprised us with this baby. She never officially announced the pregnancy, so we were shocked when she said she had given birth. However, we are thrilled that she safely delivered her baby and that she is okay.
What did she say about this?
She announced the birth of her baby boy in an Instagram post to her 1.7 million followers. There, she explained why she was silent in her social networks and why she disappeared for a while. Also, she let us know how she feels about being a new mom.
In her post, she said that “I’ve been off socials for a while as I was taking some time to enjoy cooking up this little human. We are so grateful for this little soul… That he chose us as his parents. I’m in awe of him already and can’t help stare and wonder at all the possibilities of who he will become, where he will go and what he’ll do on the big adventure of his life”.
She also added, “Right now, he seems so small and fragile, and I constantly think how grateful I am that I live in a place, in a time where he is born into peace and safety. Yet, at the same time, I see so many in the world right now that aren’t afforded that same privilege and opportunity… Who are born into famine or war, and how unjust it is that same safety isn’t there for all children”.
