Last Thursday, Elon Musk revealed the new project he is currently on, and we are very excited about this. The entrepreneur announced that he plans to build a humanoid robot, or android called the Tesla Bot. He believes that the robot combined with the Tesla A.I. will “eliminate dangerous, repetitive and boring tasks”.
For now, Tesla believes that this new robot they are developing will do many house chores and the likes. For example, the Tesla CEO believes that this robot will go to the store to fetch groceries or help you fix your car. In other words, this android could be your personal assistant later on. He predicts that this creation, eventually, will have “profound implications” for the economy”.
What do we know about this?
So far, we know that the Tesla Robot will be around 1,76m tall and will have a screen incorporated. Through it, we will access helpful information, and we could program most of his functions. Elon Musk said that the robot will also have an autopilot system, eight cameras and will be able to run 5 miles per hour.
He also said that we will be able to overpower if needing, adding, “hopefully that doesn’t ever happen, but you never know”. So all of your worries about the robot going “I, Robot” can be cleared with this. Additionally, he added that the robot could be used for physical work, saying that “In the future, this work will be a choice”.
After all of this being said, he made the announcement showing a “prototype”. By prototype, we mean he brought up an actor in a bodysuit modelled after the Tesla Bot. The internet is on fire after the dance the actor pulled and the meme-like it was. So far, this might be the funniest and more interesting announcement Elon has ever made.
