eSports are almost as important as Olympic tournaments and with excellent reasons. Online gaming is massive, and many competitive players can make a career out of their favourite video games. Moreover, most players have as hard as the one any professional athlete has to follow daily, without counting the hours they spend playing.

Every tournament has a prize in money that nowadays could mean a good amount of money. The cost and the prize pool of many could change the lives of many gamers. In case you are interested, we will tell you about the ones that pay more.

Table of Contents

  • Fortnite World Cup
  • Call of Duty League
  • Rocket League
  • League of Legends

Fortnite World Cup

Epic Games is one of the biggest game stores and one of the most important ones, thanks to Fortnite. In case you don’t know, Fornite it’s a battle royale; in other words, you have to fight with every player to win. Of course, the last one that survives is the winner; however, it’s more difficult than making it sound.

Due to the pandemic, they postpone 2020 one, but the 2021 tournament is happening, and the prize pool is still huge. In 2019 they paid $3 million prize money, and this year the prize could reach at least $8 million. The participants who can reach the finals have a money prize too, so there’s not a real loser.

Call of Duty League

Call of duty is already a franchise that is a staple among gamers. Thanks to that, many leagues are related to the game and the platform you can play it. The league has one of the biggest prize pools in eSports, and the last league gave some serious money to the winner. Despite all the hiccups caused by the pandemic, they still held the league during 2020 and 2021.

This year, any individual winning team could make $6.27 million, one of the biggest prizes in history. The game is played by teams, which mean the player team that won the price took and divided the money among the members. The final price was $2.5 million for every member of the winning team.

Rocket League

As one of the most popular multiplayer, competitive games online, the tournament prize is pretty high. Overall, this is probably one of the most fun experiences you can have while playing. Being part of a football team made of little cars, every match is fast and fun; however, the competition is seriously hardcore.

Last year championship series ended with a prize of $2.63 million, with a pool of $4.5 million in prizes. The next tournament will be held in July 2022, and the prize pool isn’t defined yet. However, we expect the prize pool to be even higher thanks to the game’s growing popularity.

League of Legends

Maybe you heard of eSports championships thanks to this game, and it’s one of the best paid in the world. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the date had to be moved, and the location changed; however, the prize pool didn’t change after that. Even though the money it’s important, being $2,25 million to the winning team, the prestige of winning it’s the most important in this case.
